UK’s number 1 property portal, Rightmove.com, is using social influence specialist PeerIndex to offer freebie copies of the book ‘Successful Property Letting.’ PeerIndex works like its better known rival Klout, in that, it ranks the importance of individuals on the basis of their social media interactions. The interest for Rightmove is that if the PeerIndex promise works, then the campaign will successfully target only the most influential property.
Rightmove’s marketing manager said: “We’re excited to see how the PeerPerks platform can work to increase pre-release buzz of our summer marketing campaign. We want influential social media users to be talking about Rightmove and PeerPerks; this gives us a great opportunity to boost our ongoing efforts in a really unique and exciting way. In launching this campaign we hope to reinforce our status as the UK’s number one property website amongst the our target audience.”
PeerIndex is a direct rival to Klout, and has already indicated that its strategy includes making inroads in the non American markets so the move certainly makes sense from their perspective. The benefits for Rightmove will only be known when they evaluate the campaign and only then if the company chooses to share their findings with the rest of us.
